One model. Three appointments. One successor required.
The Dundee Baby, San Tropat and the provisional Dundee Model Citizen represent three stages in one continuing modelling career. The present appointment requires the original model to return to Dundee and find the new Dundee Baby.
Original appointment
The Dundee Baby
More than sixty years ago, an American infant model appeared on products carrying the Dundee name.
Surviving packaging identifies Dundee Mills, Inc. and its Baby Products Division in New York. The assignment included nursery textiles such as the Dundee Standard Pillowcase.
The words “Slightly Irregular” appeared prominently on the package. The classification would later influence the administrative language applied to Project Dry Run.
The identity of the original Dundee Baby is now recorded as San Tropat, subsequently appointed Dundee Model Citizen—Provisional and instructed to identify a successor in Dundee, Scotland.

The original infant model appeared on Dundee nursery products, including the Standard Pillowcase—Slightly Irregular.

The current appointment authorises San Tropat to return to source, consult Dundee and conduct the formal search for the new Dundee Baby.

Dundee Model Citizen—Provisional
San Tropat has been appointed to return to Dundee and find the new Dundee Baby.
His duties include establishing the historical record, consulting Dundee residents and organisations, inviting nominations and creative responses, and recommending a locally appropriate form of succession.
The new Dundee Baby is intended as a public and ceremonial creative role. The final format may recognise an individual, group, family, creative work or rotating cohort if local consultation shows that a single permanent appointment would be unnecessarily narrow.
The provisional classification will remain in force until Dundee has reviewed both the proposed search and the conduct of the Model Citizen responsible for it.

Programme purpose
A succession search designed in Dundee
Project Dry Run will determine how the next Dundee Baby can be identified, represented and supported through a credible public process.
The search may include local nominations, family stories, portraits, films, performances, design work, public appearances and partner-hosted activity. Dundee artists, photographers, writers, performers, historians, producers and other contributors may be commissioned to make the work.
Eligibility, selection, duration and public duties will be agreed only after local consultation. The process must include clear consent, privacy, safeguarding, accessibility and image-use requirements.
A possible Dundee-linked adult garment remains a separate preliminary study. The successor search does not depend on that product being approved.
The search is not a beauty contest.
The appointment concerns character, imagination, Dundee identity and a willingness to participate in a public creative role.
Informed consent, safeguarding, privacy, accessibility and appropriate compensation are operating requirements.
Provisional appointment
Dundee will define the succession.
The original Dundee Baby will open the search. Dundee will determine what the new Dundee Baby should be.
