The search for the new Dundee Baby has begun.
Dundee Mills has instructed its original infant representative, now aged 62, to return to Dundee, Scotland, and identify a successor. The appointment opens a public process through which Dundee will help determine what its new Baby should represent.

The model formerly and continuously known as the Dundee Baby has been appointed Dundee Model Citizen—Provisional.
In that capacity, San Tropat will return to Dundee, consult its residents and institutions, and lead the formal search for the next Dundee Baby.
The new appointment is intended to transfer attention from the original model to a younger generation while maintaining continuity with the company’s historical nursery-products record.
San Tropat will also undertake a separate preliminary assignment for the proposed Grown-Up Products Division. That product study will proceed only where technical, user and commercial evidence supports it.

Alistair Drysdale, Director of Model Continuity, advised San Tropat that Dundee Mills would begin the search for a new Dundee Baby and asked its original model to lead it.
The notice also proposed San Tropat’s revised appointment, set out the public inquiry and placed a separate grown-up product question under preliminary examination.

Finding the new Dundee Baby
The search will invite Dundee to decide what qualities, stories and ambitions its new representative should carry forward.
Dundee residents, families, young people, former mill families, schools, community organisations, businesses and cultural institutions will be invited to help design and participate in the process.
The appointment will be public, ceremonial and creative. It will not be conducted as a conventional beauty competition, and the selected form need not be limited to one permanent individual.

Alongside the successor search, Dundee Mills is examining a discreet, washable absorbent undergarment intended primarily for light bladder leakage.
The study will consider fit, comfort, absorbency, laundering, material performance, discretion and the practical circumstances in which the garment would be worn.
No final specification, Dundee manufacturing proposal or commercial programme has been approved. The public search does not depend on the product proceeding.
